Welcome to the world of HOTBOX living – for a healthier Planet!

The HOTBOX uses the principle of insulated cooking.

If you can keep the heat that is used to cook food, no replacement heat is necessary to complete the cooking process.

This kind of cooking is healthier, tastier, frees up your time, saves you money and it allows you, as an individual, to make a significant contribution to the ensuing global effort to halt and reverse the rapid depletion of our resources.

Once you have experienced the incredible efficiency of the HOTBOX method of cooking, you never stop marveling at the almost miraculous way that your food is cooked perfectly, every time!

We are passionate HOTBOX devotees and are deeply committed to sharing this style of cooking with all people.

And we are committed to Poverty Alleviation via Green Solutions with our associates, GreenIt!: http://www.greenit.org.za/

Gabri Rigotti, the Founder of GreenIt! realised in 2002 that municipal service delivery, even if efficiently delivered, was unsustainable in its current form.

A municipality in the Western Cape, South Africa, was struggling to collect arrears despite quality software systems and skilled resources.

The problem was that whilst it was able to collect for three of the four areas in its jurisdiction it was performing badly in the fourth.

The fourth area was too impoverished to sustain for example recyclable water being flushed down the drain instead of being diverted into cash cropping fields.

Ironically many of the households in arrears were seasonal farm workers with largish plots that could be cultivated if water was affordable!

Rigotti investigated the idea of solar toilets, a device used by the French during their colonial era in North Africa.

Such ideas in 2002 were considered bizarre although solar toilets are now increasingly available for the Green Minded, encompassing a range from basic to that of extreme luxury!

In 2008 Rigotti purchased the HOTBOX business to underpin the ukuvuya kit that he had conceived of, namely an expansive and unlimited set of Green products and services that could be deployed via Corporate Social Investment as low cost poverty alleviation solutions.

The essence of GreenIt! is to measure the impact of these ‘green household survival kits’ on a continuous and accurate basis so that CSI can be deployed in the most effective manner.

Whilst Hot Boxes are sold in the mainstream market, the main goal is that of providing AID.

When rolled out as projects the hot boxes are used for local job creation as well.
